FORACO is recognized as Australia’s leading Large Diameter Coring (LDC) specialist, having undertaken numerous LDC contracts over the past 4 years. Projects have been successfully completed in Western Australia, Queensland and The Republic of Congo, drilling for Iron Ore, Uranium and Coal.
FORACO’s 8” conventional coring system provides a sample volume of 32 litres per linear meter, six times the volume of PQ3 (with significantly better core recovery in challenging formations).
The Company has developed a proprietary system for 8” conventional coring that provides a productive and safe platform to handle the large tooling associated with LDC, eliminating manual handling risk. This includes a dedicated corebarrel handling skid, hands free breakouts, rod handling and fluid system.
Core recovery has been exceptional with ~13,000m of 6” and 8” LDC drilled in the past 10 years. FORACO crews have honed their drilling techniques, down hole tooling, mud systems and work methodology to achieve a combined total of 96% core recovery in some extremely challenging ground conditions.
