Safety Management System

FORACO is committed to providing a safe and productive work place for its employees. Our Safety Management System (SMS) is the foundation that supports our I³ values and is certified to AS 4801, ISO 45000, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Our Safety Management System details how we conduct our business, what we expect of our employees and how we manage risk. It is designed to operate as an integrated management system to ensure our employees remain safe and productive at all times.

The company acknowledges that safety and productivity can coexist and are not mutually exclusive, however if there is ever a conflict between safety and productivity, safety must always come first.
To deliver a safe workplace, our integrated Safety Management System (SMS) was developed to ensure all stakeholders are aware of their Legal, Moral, Individual, Company and Client obligations, and Duty of Care when working for FORACO.

The Safety Management System has many elements that are designed to provide guidance, training, consistency, accountability, structure and process to the business. Above all else, the intent of the FORACO Safety Management System is to allow employees to work safely in a hazard free environment.

For our Safety Management System to be effective, we understand it must be compliant, current, relevant, engaging, clear, consistent and unambiguous.

For our Safety Management System to be effective, we understand it must be compliant, current, relevant, engaging, clear, consistent and unambiguous.

We aim to deliver a fit for purpose, cost effective drilling service that employs the hierarchy of controls to eliminate or control hazards.  All employees are thoroughly trained and skilled in the application of hazard identification and mitigation.

As a company we understand that traditional controls will not safeguard or protect employees against the outcome of poor decision making.  We have recently rolled out our Four States Program – 4SP.  The intent is to have employees recognize if they (or their team mates) are rushing, frustrated, fatigued or complacent, and to have them remove themselves from the situation before the potential for an incident escalates.

Our SMS details how we conduct our business, what we expect of our employees and how we manage risk.
